The Old Testament law prescribed that faithful Jews give God the "first fruits" of their labors -- the first 10% of their income -- at the time of harvest. While Christians are no longer bound by the Mosaic Law, tradition still encourages all Catholics to give at least 10 % of their income -- 5% directly to the Church and 5% to other charities -- as a good guideline for faithful stewardship. We would like to encourage you to consider making a similar 10% contribution from your estate -- 5% to the Church and 5% to charities of your choice -- so that your "final fruits" can provide "perpetual support" both to the Church and to other worthwhile organizations, at the time of your passing. We hope that you will prayerfully consider this challenge and contact your financial planning advisor, to discuss the means best for you to do so.
